The current trend in Tollywood is the heroines have less scope for performance, they are just glamour dolls in most of the movies. There were lot of heroine oriented movies in Tollywood. Yesteryear heroines like Vijayasanthi, Jayasudha, Soundarya, Vanisree and Sarada have entertained audience with heroine oriented movies.
Director Kodi Ramakrishna has set the heroine oriented trend again with "Arundathi". With the huge success of "Arundathi" all the producers opened their eyes and concentrating on female centric movies. Like a revolution in Tollywood frequent films are making on heroine oriented flicks.
3 heroine oriented movies are on track to release in coming 2 months, all the three movie have huge expectations. Anushka's "Varna" is all set to release soon and Sehekhar Kammula's movie "Anamika" which is a remake of Bollywood flick "Kahani".
Nayantara playing lead role of a pregnant lady who is in search of her missing husband. Finally Priyamani's revenge drama "Chandi" movie released today, if these films do well at box office these heroines can compete with big heroes of Tollywood. Then we can say that "Female centric era" has started. Lets wait and see.
